About 11 years ago, with our very talented Annapurna team and informed by the unusual scale and insight we had in operating the largest cloud infrastructure, we decided to design and build our own CPU chip. This CPU chip is now known as Graviton, and is well-loved by our AWS customers. About 98% of our top 1,000 EC2 customers use Graviton expansively. Over 120,000 customers are using Graviton. Meta just committed to tens of millions of Graviton cores for their agentic AI efforts. Uber and Snowflake are deploying Graviton as well. Today, we released Graviton5 into General Availability. The reason customers are so excited about Graviton is that it offers about 30-40% better price-performance than comparable instances. This is a big deal at any scale. But, when you layer on top of how much CPU customers normally use with the fact that AI’s growth is driving explosive CPU expansion given that post-training, reinforcement learning, and agentic actions use CPU, Graviton becomes even more compelling. Excited for how Graviton5 will help customers.

NEW: Bitcoiner @cprkrn says Anthropic’s Claude AI helped recover access to a Bitcoin wallet with 5 BTC locked for more than 11 years. According to him, he had changed the wallet password while high in college and completely forgot it, despite still having the mnemonic phrase. After years of failed attempts and spending hundreds of dollars on recovery efforts, he uploaded data from an old college computer into Claude. Claude reportedly discovered an old wallet file that helped decrypt the mnemonic and recover the funds. The forgotten password: “lol420fuckthePOLICE!*:)”

It's been more than a half a century since Kam Ghaffarian fell in love with the United States. He recalled being 11-years-old in Iran huddling around his neighbor’s black-and-white TV to watch the moon landing on July 20, 1969. That emotional experience led him to move to Washington D.C. with a college student visa, starting the adventure that would lead him to launch six companies. A Bitcoin holder has recovered nearly $400,000 worth of BTC after being locked out of his wallet for over 11 years, with help from Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude. The owner changed his wallet password in college, later forgot it, and spent years unsuccessfully trying to regain access. The AI did not “hack” Bitcoin or crack the wallet’s encryption. Instead, it analyzed legacy wallet files, identified an older backup created before the password change, and uncovered issues in the recovery process. Using those findings with existing recovery information, the owner reconstructed access to the wallet.
