Example: You think BTC will rise this week, but choose a 1-day expiry. BTC rises on Day 3, exactly as you expected — but your trade already ended on Day 1. That’s how you can be right about the market, but wrong about the trade. Getting these two things clear helps you choose a trade that actually matches your market view — instead of losing because of the wrong strike or expiry.
