🚨 ORACLE WORKERS ARE BRACING FOR ANOTHER 6AM EMAIL 🚨
September 1 is Tuesday. That is when Oracle's fiscal Q2 starts. Business Insider reports managers were told to submit layoff lists before that date. Some teams face double-digit percentage cuts.
The dread comes from March.
Thousands of Oracle employees woke up that morning to an email from "Oracle Leadership." It cited business needs, said their role was eliminated, and told them the same day was their last. Access to laptops, email, and files was revoked while people were still reading. Oracle asked for personal email addresses to send the termination paperwork.
Now the 6am PTSD is real. Employees on layoff forums describe checking their phones at dawn every day this week, waiting to see if the login still works.
The numbers behind it:
- Headcount fell from 162,000 to 141,000 in fiscal 2026. 21,000 people, 13% of the company, in one year
- Oracle spent $55.7 billion on AI data centers in that same year
- It borrowed $43 billion to help fund the buildout
- Free cash flow: negative $23.7 billion
- Severance booked: $1.84 billion
Oracle's own annual filing admits AI adoption "may continue to result in reductions to our workforce."
Oracle has not confirmed a single detail. Last time, confirmation arrived at 6am.
Watching this closely this week.
