There were certainly some difficulties upon arrival, but I think that was normal; organizing and hosting such massive games is no easy task for any nation, so a few hiccups are to be expected. We managed and recovered from that really well. It was shooting that brought in the first medals last year, and it’s shooting bringing in the first medals this time too. 🇯🇵 Japan claimed the first gold medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games as host nation, with Takumi Hojo winning the men's individual triathlon on home soil. Hojo trailed in 4th after the swim and 5th after the bike leg before breaking away on the run to win by 9 seconds over China's Zhang Xirui, with Kazakhstan's Arlan Zhanabay taking bronze.
