The Bible reminds us to give honor where honor is due, and today I had the privilege of participating in a mural dedication honoring two of Shreveport’s finest heroes. It’s a story our community knows well. Caddo Magnet High School alumni and Navy SEALs, Jonas Kelsall and Rob Reeves, lost their lives in the line of duty in August 2011, in the Extortion 17 helicopter crash in Afghanistan. Today, we unveiled a mural dedicated to these two patriots, with the most fitting motto, 𝘯𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪 𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘦 — “not for self, but for country” — inscribed at the bottom. I had a chance to visit with Rob’s father, Jim, before the presentation and listen to stories about his beloved son. Jonas and Rob were teammates and faithful friends who ultimately gave their lives so the rest of us can enjoy the blessings of liberty. May God bless the legacies of Jonas and Rob, and may this mural remind future generations that freedom is never free.

Tiny Bible references have been printed on In-N-Out cups and wrappers for decades. Most people never even notice them. Lynsi Snyder was asked why they don’t remove them. Her answer was simple: they’re staying. Not because they’re trying to preach to customers or because it’s a marketing gimmick. Because it’s part of the family’s faith and part of the company’s history. Imagine living in a culture where a tiny “John 3:16” printed on the bottom of a cup is considered too controversial.

"Quran copied the Bible." Then show me where these are in the Bible: Jesus speaking from the cradle. Jesus making a bird from clay. Solomon talking to an ant and a hoopoe. The sleepers of the cave. Dhul-Qarnayn and the barrier against Gog and Magog. If the Quran is nothing more than a copy of the Bible, why does it contain stories the Bible never tells? I’ll wait.

Just finished bible time… Jeremiah 32:17 - “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” We agree God can do whatever He pleases… then we still question what He asks us to do. He doesn’t need us to understand it. Just obey. Even when it seems unreasonable. Nothing is too hard for God. Submit to Him and watch Him work. Hope this touches your hearts as much as it did mine. ✝️🙏
