Control: Resonant director Mikael Kasurinen explained why the game deliberately avoids the usual yellow paint markers used to show players where they can climb, enter or interact.
He says it was a conscious decision because Remedy wants players to actually figure things out themselves instead of constantly being told where to go. “It’s so important that the players feel like they’re the ones figuring it out.”
Instead of yellow paint, Resonant uses things like lighting, environmental details and objects to guide players.
Kasurinen admits this approach can make the game feel “impenetrable” at first and could alienate some players, but he believes that uncertainty is part of the experience.
“There’s nothing fucking better than it feels like I found my way to do it.”
Control Resonant gets infinite New Game+ in October and Photo Mode in November.
Right now NG+ stops after the second run. Next month it doesn’t.
Photo Mode wasn’t ready. “We’ve seen the comments – we hear you, you want it, and we want to get it into your hands.”
No Expansion Pass. No story DLC. Control and Alan Wake 2 both shipped two packs. This one hasn’t.
More Dylan clothes later. They already cut enemy health and buffed your guns yesterday.
Silent Hill: Townfall and Control Resonant are released on the same day: September 24. Two highly anticipated titles in different genres, but they will make many choose which to play first.

Remedy Isn’t Worried About Releasing Control Resonant Near GTA 6
Most game developers would avoid launching near GTA 6, but Remedy Entertainment sees things differently.
Remedy CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon explained why the studio isn’t concerned about releasing Control Resonant around Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI.
Instead of viewing GTA 6 as a threat, Remedy believes it will benefit the entire gaming industry.
Gaudechon said 2026 is expected to “raise the tide” for everyone, as GTA 6 will attract millions of players
Remedy is confident its game will stand out. As Gaudechon put it, players can “expect a voice that will cut through the noise.”
Remedy’s stance is that the studio’s loyal fanbase will help the game find its audience.
Even the RTX 5090 can’t hit 60 FPS in Control Resonant at 4K
TechPowerUp’s latest benchmark shows just how demanding Control Resonant is with Ultra settings and ray tracing.
>At native 4K, the RTX 5090 averages 48 FPS.
>The RTX 4090 manages 34.2 FPS
>RTX 5080 reaches 29.4 FPS.
>AMD’s RX 9070 XT also falls below 30 FPS, at 27.1 FPS.
And these results are without upscaling.
