Discord is doubling the free file upload limit from 10MB to 20MB. Starting today, free users can upload files up to 20MB without needing Nitro. Discord is also changing how the limit is checked on mobile. The file size will now be measured before compression, matching how the limit is already handled on desktop. Discord has started rolling out Incode for age verification. The system requires users to submit a government-issued ID and a selfie to confirm their age. According to Discord, Incode processes biometric data locally on the user’s device using on-device AI and does not permanently store that biometric data on its servers.
