Architect operates the only regulated futures exchanges that allow firms and individuals to integrate immediately and establish free low-latency connections. Customers sign up, download Claude Skill, and prompt “integrate with Architect.” A detailed comparison to CME onboarding: CME Onboarding Individuals are unable to onboard directly to CME. Single-member entities or firms seeking low-latency access to CME’s exchanges follow this process, requiring months, with $10,000-$50,000 ongoing costs per month: 1. Become a CME member firm or obtain sponsored access from an existing member. In order for a new firm/single-member entity to connect directly to CME Globex, they must either (a) partner with a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) or proprietary trading firm that offers sponsored access or (b) apply to become a full CME member firm. Membership requires a formal application, detailed financial statements, background checks, a non-refundable application fee, and the purchase or lease of a membership seat ($10,000 to $750,000). 2. Contact CME account management team for sessions, agreements, and entitlements. The firm must contact CME’s Global Account Management (GAM) or Enterprise Application and System Entitlements (EASE) team to request order entry sessions (iLink SenderCompIDs), negotiate and sign multiple legal agreements (Exchange User License Agreement, Information License Agreement, Market Data License, Connection Agreement, etc.), and obtain specific product and market data entitlements. 3. Setup CME Glink networking, adapt to iLink SBE protocol. For low-latency access a firm must use CME GLink, the exchange’s proprietary 10 Gbps equidistant connectivity service available inside CME’s co-location facility in Aurora, Illinois. In parallel, developers must implement the iLink 3 order entry protocol, which uses Simple Binary Encoding (SBE). This requires downloading CME’s official XML schema/templates and running the SBE code generator to produce language-specific “stubs” (C++, Java, etc.) that correctly encode and decode every message. 4. Pass UAT certification in CME’s test environment. A firm then must complete formal user acceptance testing (UAT) using CME’s AutoCert+ tool in their Certification or New Release environments. The firm must run their trading system through mandatory test suites covering session management, order entry, cancels, modifications, mass quotes, and failover behavior. CME will provision production sessions only after signing off on all certifications. 5. Implement auditing and reporting for internal data usage. CME market data licenses impose strict audit requirements on all subscribers. Firms must build or purchase third-party systems that track consumers of Level 2/Level 3 CME data, whether data is used for display or non-display purposes, and whether data is redistributed internally or externally. Firms are required to maintain detailed records and be prepared for CME audits, with non-compliance resulting in fines or loss of entitlements. 6. Purchase colocated servers in CME datacenter, establish cross-connects to CME gateways. Low-latency access requires physical co-location in CME’s primary matching-engine facility in Aurora, IL. Firms must license cabinet space (half or full cabinets at various power tiers), install proprietary servers, and order physical fiber cross-connects from the firm’s cabinets to GLink access switches or Market Segment Gateways. 7. Prove significant account balance, pay all required fees. CME requires firms with direct access to demonstrate substantial capital reserves. Firms pay recurring charges for GLink connectivity (~$12,000/month for 10 Gbps plus installation), co-location cabinets and power, market data (display, non-display, and redistribution), order entry sessions, dropcopies, and various other entitlements. For a properly engineered low-latency setup these costs routinely reach five figures per month before any trading volume. Architect AX and AI Exchange Onboarding By contrast, here is the process for integrating and receiving free low-latency direct access on Architect’s exchanges, AX and AI Exchange, for individuals and firms: 1. Direct account creation. Individual and institutional customers complete the entire sign-up and KYC process electronically on our web or mobile applications. 2. Integrate using standard protocols, SDKs, and AI tools. Architect provides REST and websocket APIs which conform to OpenAPI standards. There are also open-source SDKs in modern languages like Python and Rust, as well as a Claude skill to enable agents to build out full connectivity. 3. Connect to sandbox or production environments. Users create their own read-only or read-write API credentials from our apps. Connectivity can be established over the internet or through AWS PrivateLink from the same EC2 region and availability zone as our matching engine. 4. Pay no fees. Account creation, connectivity to our AWS-hosted matching engines, level-3 market data subscriptions, and order entry sessions are free for all users. Current discussion on the competitive landscape of US commodities and derivatives exchanges focuses on novel product types. It’s more important to address the factors rendering the largest US commodities exchanges vulnerable and a cost to the industry: unfair access, rent-seeking, and massive technical debt.
