Capcom is bringing frame generation to Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch 2, the first Capcom game on the console to use the tech.
The game targets 30 FPS, with frame generation on, extra frames are created so it looks and feels closer to 60 FPS.
Producer Naoto Oyama said the tech “calculates and interpolates ‘what would happen if there was a frame here’ between frames.”
Capcom admits there can be slight ghosting when the system struggles with certain scenes, but says this is uncommon in normal gameplay.
Players can turn frame generation on or off.
Oyama said the tech is already quite commonly used in PC games, but this is Capcom’s first time bringing it to Switch 2.

Sony could be working on its own frame generation tech for the PS6, and a new patent offers interesting clues.
Instead of rendering every frame, the system could predict and generate the next one.
For example, if you press the jump button, the system knows the character is about to jump. It could use that information to predict the next few frames instead of simply creating frames between two already-rendered images.
The patent describes handling cases where the prediction is wrong.

Modders did it again and DLSS frame generation Now Support RTX 30s Natively up to x4
>A new community project called DLSSG for SM86 is bringing DLSS Frame Generation to NVIDIA RTX 30-series GPUs.
>The project targets Ampere cards, including GPUs such as the RTX 3060, 3070, 3080 and 3090, which were never officially supported by NVIDIA’s DLSS Frame Generation.
>According to the project’s GitHub page, it can also enable up to 4× frame generation, depending on the game and setup.
Nvidia is really a greedy company, If RTX 30-series GPUs can actually run the tech, why not give people the option, they really wanted to force people purchase every new card

PS3 emulation on Android is getting Frame Generation.
ARMSX3 0.9.4.2 is experimenting with Frame Generation through LSFG.
But don’t expect it to work perfectly yet, It’s still a work in progress, and some phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Adreno 740 can run out of GPU power when PS3 emulation and Frame Generation are used together.
So in some games, Frame Generation might actually be too heavy to use.
ARMSX3 has also been getting other improvements, including RPCN online play, pipeline caching and more Adreno-specific optimizations.

AMD may be getting its own version of Multi Frame Generation, based on new information in the latest Radeon drivers.
Leaked driver files include options for Multi Frame Generation with settings from 1x to 8x.
They also mention other AI graphics features, including Ray Regeneration and Neural Radiance Caching, suggesting AMD is working on a major FSR update.
If launched, it could generate AI frames similar to Nvidia’s Multi Frame Generation. However, AMD hasn’t confirmed how it will work, what GPUs will support it, or when it might be released.
For now, this is based on hidden driver code, so nothing is official.

NVIDIA’s DLSS tech now runs on AMD Radeon GPUs unofficially.
A new DLSS-NR-on-AMD version adds Ray Reconstruction and Frame Generation, including up to 4X Multi Frame Generation.
AMD RX 7000 and RX 9000 GPUs can now use implementations of the four main DLSS technologies: Super Resolution, Neural Rendering, Ray Reconstruction, and Frame Generation.
Testing on a Radeon RX 9070 XT in Cyberpunk 2077 with Path Tracing showed no measurable FPS loss with Ray Reconstruction in one test, though others saw drops of around 4–10 FPS or more depending on the game and settings.
