AI analyst Lisan al Gaib ranks Opus 5 third behind Fable and GPT-5.6 Sol: "First of all, it's not really a true frontier model, because it's the second tier model of Anthropic nowadays. But it's clearly a very good model, and I would rank it maybe in third place right now. Fable is still the best model, then GPT-5.6 Sol, and after that you have Opus 5." "But just for coding, if we differentiate by domain, I think Opus 5 has to be the best coding model. There's Frontier Code by Cognition. Opus 5 is basically as good as Fable or slightly better, at one third of the price." @scaling01

AI analyst Lisan al Gaib on why the consensus that Kimi K3 is frontier is wrong: "There's always this debate of how good is the model and how far is it behind the frontier. When I say Kimi K3 hasn't caught up to US models, I don't mean this in a bad way, but from a forecasting perspective, I'm very stats driven. You also have to differentiate between different domains." "When you look at coding, I think Kimi has basically caught up to within a few months, maybe three or four months behind the frontier. But if you look at overall capabilities, then it's more like five months, and maybe longer if you include Mythos preview." "Many people don't realize how large or how tiny frontier models from OpenAI or Anthropic are. Another aspect is reasoning efficiency. When we look at these benchmarks, Kimi is still one or two generations behind in reasoning efficiency. But in terms of potential, I have to agree that Kimi can basically reach Fable level and GPT-5.6 Sol level, just with more post-training." @scaling01

According to publicly available information, between August 2021 and August 2023, Daniel Wang held roles across IVC, W3GG, and Aethir simultaneously. We’ve also just received information from sources familiar with the matter claiming that, during his time at IVC, Daniel Wang allegedly accepted various kickbacks tied to deals, which reportedly caused dissatisfaction among several of IVC’s core partners. A quick side note here: IVC is widely regarded as the most active investor among Japan-based crypto funds in terms of the number of crypto projects backed. @FSA_Japan @cyberpolice_jp @JVCEA_Official @jcba_official @CoinDesk @coin_post @circle  @DCGco @animocabrands  @TheSpartanGroup   @Morningstar_VC @shimacapital   @BigBrainVC  @Sfermion_   @Ventures_HTX
