Global passive equity fund inflows are skyrocketing:
Passive equity funds across developed and emerging markets attracted a record +$250 billion in inflows over the last 4 weeks.
Over the same timeframe, active funds recorded -$50 billion in outflows.
This brings combined 4-week flows across passive and active equity funds to +$200 billion, an all-time high.
This surpasses the previous record of +$165 billion set in early 2021, when both passive and active funds recorded inflows.
Overall, passive equity fund inflows have more than quadrupled since mid-2025.
Passive investing remains exceptionally popular.
