Helldivers 2 is switching from GameGuard to Easy Anti-Cheat this week, and Arrowhead is adding extra security measures against gameplay mods that give players an unfair advantage. Arrowhead says GameGuard “wasn’t as effective as it could have been” and admits the move to EAC could break some harmless cosmetic mods. Some players say gameplay mods aren’t used to cheat but to work around unfixed bugs, including stratagem and hitbox issues. Arrowhead supports PC modding but wants to draw the line at mods that negatively affect other players.
