Amazon France is being accused of refusing to replace a defective RTX 5080 under warranty. The MSI RTX 5080 Shadow’s power connector burned, the customer asked Amazon for a replacement, but support offered only a refund of around €1,200 or told him to deal with MSI. The problem is that Amazon still has RTX 5080 cards in stock, but they now cost about €200 more. The customer argues that EU consumer law gives buyers the right to choose between a repair and a replacement when a product is defective, unless the chosen solution is impossible or would place an unreasonable cost on the seller. He has already filed complaints with the European Consumer Centre and France’s SignalConso consumer protection service.
