Don't Nod, the team behind Aphelion and Life is Strange, is in a really bad situation right now (shocking!!), the studio says there’s a real risk it may not keep operating beyond January 31, 2027 unless it finds additional funding. Their latest game with an empowered female lead and diverse cast, Aphelion, hasn’t turned the company’s situation around, the company spent around €8.5 million. >Don't Nod had €15.4 million in cash at the end of 2025, but that dropped to around €8 million by the end of July 2026. >Revenue for the first half of the year was €6.1 million, down 14%, while the company recorded a €4.3 million operating EBITDA loss. The studio is now planning major layoffs in France that could cut up to 90 jobs. Who wasn’t expecting this after the latest flops

Don't Nod is reportedly facing serious financial problems. According to journalist Gautoz, an audit report warns that the studio could run out of cash by November if it doesn’t secure new funding. The report also claims that Tencent is not willing to provide more money or increase its investment. Don't Nod’s own financial reports already showed that the company was under pressure and would need additional funding to continue operating in the long term. The studio is best known for games like Life Is Strange, Vampyr, Jusant, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.
