us national debt: $40 trillion
$30 trillion of that since obama was elected in 2008
$20 trillion since trump in 2016
one thing republicans and democrats can all agree on: increasing the deficit
Our national debt surpassed $40 trillion, yet very few in Washington are worried about addressing this crisis.
I put forth the Six Penny Plan to make even, across-the-board cuts so we can balance our budget in five years. All it takes is cutting six cents from every $1 the federal government spends.
US National Debt has increased by $715 billion since July 1 while the 10-Year Treasury yield has jumped from 4.48% to 4.75%.
Washington’s solution?
Increase buybacks of longer-dated Treasuries to $4 billion.
But swapping longer-maturity debt for shorter-maturity debt doesn’t solve the underlying problem: we’re still borrowing at an alarming pace.
Until that changes, the upward pressure on rates will remain.
Video:
US National Debt is now 124% of GDP, 4x higher than the early 1980s.
This isn’t coming after a depression or world war.
We’re running massive deficits during an economic expansion with the unemployment rate at 4%.
That should concern everyone.

Our national debt sits at $40 trillion, and Washington still hands out taxpayer-funded welfare to those here illegally.
My End Welfare for Non-Citizens Act ends federal funding for programs like TANF, Medicaid, and SNAP for refugees, asylees, and illegal aliens.
