Ray Kurzweil predicts LEV in 2029. LEV is the point where medical technology begins to advance so quickly that for every year you live, your remaining life expectancy increases by more than one year.
Considering how remarkably prescient he has been about our trajectory, if you make it through the next four years, you may end up living much, much longer than you ever expected.
Imagine a future version of yourself looking back to today. You are probably a lot different, but there is still a direct unbroken line from you to them, and their entire existence depends upon you. If they could send a message back, they would probably say something like: protect our precious seed. Stop taking such unnecessary risks. And do everything you can to successfully navigate the storm that now lies ahead of you.
