Whenever I post something political, I get a flood of comments saying they're disappointed in me. But I'm not doing it because I want to insult or look down on anyone. I look at what is happening in parts of Europe with immigration and Muslim communities, and I'm genuinely terrified that Japan could face similar problems next. Americans may feel strong and confident that it could never happen to their country. But Europeans probably once felt just as confident. I don't want us to underestimate the risks and realize what we've lost only after our peace and sense of security are gone. I want people to recognize those risks and stand together before that happens. That's really all I'm trying to say.

Whenever I see a new voice-first interface, a tiny voice inside of me screams with joy. Voice is the interface of the present and future. I see you, Google. Do your thing.

Whenever Warsh turns to specifics and get precise, it really stands out (because so much of the rest is fillers). Today he introduces another “Warsh” indicator for watching geopolitics. The three things he has told us he watches: 1) share of the 199 pce components at >3% inflation at 6 and 12 month annualized 2) the second derivative of ai capex 3) and today, on watching the inflation spillovers from geopolitical – the difference between spot prices for corn, soybeans, wheat and so-called crack spreads.  Of those 3, the first likely came down in August, the second probably ex post will have proved to have peaked this year.

Whenever I see videos from American science and engineering YouTubers, honestly, the first emotion I feel is jealousy. I see their workshops, the tools they have access to, the sheer variety of them, all organized and readily available. The culture they have of building things on their own is, I think, one of the things that has made them great. They are the kind of people who figure things out. If I had been a kid and my father had access to these tools, stores, parts, or even the desire to build things from scratch, I could have been something different. The nature-versus-nurture debate doesn’t really seem to apply to America. Both seem to be conducive to sparking curiosity in kids. They have access to the best environment, nature included, education, and a strong DIY culture. They have mall-sized hardware stores where you can buy almost anything you want. A specific type of nut? They have it. A particular type of spring? They have it. I have also noticed that they are collectors. They don’t necessarily care how expensive a piece of equipment is; if it has a use, they will get it. Most of these things are not available to us. A child born in India has to just focus on studies. Parents don’t want us to build things. For example, during summer vacations, all we have is a ton of homework to do, and much of it is just memorization. There is very little that sparks curiosity or ideas in a kid’s mind. American kids go camping and hunting. They learn to do things on their own. Some of them may help their dads renovate their homes. I think some of this comes down to the dignity of labor. They don’t shame someone for being a plumber, electrician, or carpenter. These are respectable jobs, something I can’t say about my country. I don’t know, man, what else to say. Just some random thoughts.

Whenever ai does something important / dangerous im just going to tell the public it trained on my logs. Surely this is helpful for the public. Don’t worry about the highly capable swarm of agents, it just trained on my logs ! Amazing work ant /s

Whenever I go on Twitter and say "Gambling doesn't work, HODL & Community-building is the only way", Nihilists, Cynics and Gamblers roll their eyes, while Optimists, Wholesome Believers and people genuinely looking for things worth HODLing listen up. This is extremely bullish for SPX6900 because little by little, >95% of the SPX6900 supply will end up in the hands of Optimists and Wholesome Believers. And *only* a Community composed of those kinds of people will ever be able to take a coin to $500B+ and beyond.

Whenever I see this in YouTube videos, I cringe a little. Mostly because the editing tools these creators use DEFINITELY employ AI processing and were likely developed using agentic systems... But also because this is such reductive virtue signaling we'll laugh at in 10 years.
