XPeng's robotics unit raised over $900M at a $6.3B post-money valuation. Largest single-round private raise in China's embodied AI sector. IDG Capital led. Tencent, Alibaba, and Gaorong joined. Worth understanding the structure. XPeng Inc. is publicly traded, but this money did not go into XPEV as a parent-level primary. Investors bought equity in Dogotix, a separate robotics subsidiary with its own cap table. The $900M splits three ways: $600M external, $200M from XPeng itself, $100M from executives. Dogotix stays a controlled subsidiary and still consolidates into XPeng's financials. Money goes into the IRON humanoid: 76 DoF body, 21 per hand. Mass production targeted end of 2026, deliveries in China and overseas in 2027. $XPEV fell 8.5% anyway. Clip from IRON unveiling late last year:

XPENG’s robotics business has completed a 900M+ Series A funding round at a post-money valuation exceeding $6.3B, setting a new fundraising record for China’s embodied AI industry. The round was led by IDG Capital, joined by Gaorong Ventures, and strategically backed by Tencent and Alibaba, with XPENG retaining controlling ownership. The capital will accelerate full-stack hardware/software R&D, physical AI training, smart manufacturing infrastructure, and global market expansion. Backed by 12 years of in-house tech innovation—from physical foundation models to Turing AI chips and robust AI infrastructure—XPENG is uniquely positioned to lead the scale-up and commercial rollout of high-end humanoid robots. XPENG IRON is slated for mass production in late 2026, launching first in XPENG retail stores and campuses before rolling out globally with customer deliveries in 2027. $XPEV

220+ XPENGs. 700+ people. One giant cinema. 🍿 In Denmark, our users turned a parking lot into something pretty special. Some brought popcorn. Some brought their families. And some even turned their XPENGs into private movie theaters with sleeping kits. I love seeing technology become part of real life — and sometimes, just a great night out. Big thanks to our Denmark team and our amazing community for making this happen.
