$GOOGL LAUNCHES “PICS,” AN AI-POWERED CANVA RIVAL FOR WORKSPACE Google is rolling out Google Pics, a new image generation and editing app built around Gemini and Nano Banana. Pics lets users: • Generate and edit images with prompts • Select and modify individual objects or text • Translate and reformat text inside images • Upscale images to 2K or 4K • Resize designs for social, web, print and digital • Collaborate with teammates Pics will work as a standalone Workspace app and inside Docs and Slides, with Drive integration coming later. The product puts Google more directly against Canva and Adobe Express for business design workflows.
