Today the Hyde Amendment turns 50 years old. 50 years of denying critical abortion care to people who can’t afford it. 50 years of forcing people to choose between paying for health care and paying for rent, food, child care, or other necessities. 50 years of making access to health care depend on how much money you have. Health care must not be a privilege for people who can afford it.
