The one-sided moaning by Singapore is getting ridiculous.
This is their state media, reporting a Chinese car being fined 400RMB (60 US dollars) for having a joke number plate.
"Run" in Chinese carries the undertone of run, as in emigrate, it can be interpreted as the person mocking this who emigrated and had to transition from a white collar worker in China to a washing dishes in China Town in the US. Or it could be interpreted as a person desparately trying to emigrate... by getting in trouble with the cops.
I guess the Singapore propaganda agency decided it was important to insinuate the joke number plate incident to be something bigger.
🔹Broader context about this spat.
Some Chinese internet users posted some videos showing how there are quite a lot of indians in Singapore, and mocked the city for it.
The Singaporean government then decided this was a concerted effort by China to destabilize their country. Singaporean press and government statements have been throwing jabs at China for the past couple of months, while China didn't even bother to respond.😂
Yes, Singapore sabotaged their relations with China over some videos some Chinese internet users uploaded on Chinese TikTok.
Now, after the constant complaint from Singapore, majority of Chinese public opinion have turned against the city-state.
