The day after Om passed away, @photomatt wrote about an idea. Bring all of Om’s worlds together on what would have been his 60th birthday. That idea became OmFest. On September 29, we’re spending twelve hours in San Francisco bringing those worlds together. It’s a day built around what kept @om curious. The people he loved are at the center of it. So are the ideas he kept returning to. His photography and music run through the day. So do the objects he cared about and the friendships he built over decades. Matt was Om’s best friend. This is where $ALBEMARLE fits in: the memetic incarnation of that rural, sly, mediocre yet beautifully pure spirit that permeates the very foundations of modern America. We’re seeing giants like OpenAI encourage, promote, and lower the barrier for solo game devving. This is the future. Humans are naturally inclined to build and find fulfillment in it from childhood. Just think of Legos. It’s only natural that we will see more and more people try their hand at it just for fun, fueling the media exposure and making the whole narrative trend. I’m not saying a kid in his bedroom will develop the next GTA 7, but the mere fact that people can have fun building out their ideas will be a massive trend in the near future. With ALBEMARLE: The Game, we are ahead of the curve here too. We are developing a meticulously crafted video game that oozes that nostalgic spirit, fusing entertainment with DeFi mechanics through a memetic subculture that has already natively developed within the crypto ecosystem.
