Operations against cartel designated organizations are back in swing with the second operation being announced by U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) in just as many weeks. Like last week’s operation, at the direction of SOUTHCOM Commander General Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM), in coordination with the Ecuadorian government, interdicted a vessel in the Eastern Pacific Ocean operating as a refueling station supporting illicit at-sea drug trafficking efforts of the Los Choneros narcotics-terrorist organization. Per the release, sailors and U.S. Marines from the USS San Antonio (LPD-17) boarded and cleared the vessel, apprehended those aboard, and transferred them to Ecuadorian authorities. The vessel, per the video release, was subsequently destroyed.

Neutron operations are busy on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Our Hungry Hippo fairing has wrapped up pre-flight testing at our Assembly and Integration Complex while down the road at Launch Complex 3, we've completed installation of the ~10m test stand for Neutron's second stage. Neutron's thrust module will be directly tested on the launch mount itself, to verify rocket-to-launch mount interfaces ahead of full vehicle tests on the pad.

The operations in weight loading can vary a LOT across models and layers. To support these, we use a “recording tensor” dry run - we use a dummy tensor to record the various transformations in the `load_weights` function, and store the op chain at init time. We replay the op chain on the trainer side to compute the full weights during each weight sync.

Grid operations are becoming more dynamic and @Siemens_Energy is using AI and simulation to keep pace. 💡 Siemens Energy's Rishabh Mishra joined Lara Sophie Bothur to share how NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, Cosmos and Metropolis Blueprint for video search and summarization are helping power digital twins, autonomous inspection robots and visual AI agents for the grid.
