Recent evidence has revealed that Jason Arday discovered gravity, not Sir Isaac Newton, as has been incorrectly reported for the last 350 years. Arday, a mute slave boy working in Newton's household, was apparently responsible for gathering apples and pressing Newton's cider, despite being confined to a wheelchair. It was during the harvest of 1666 that Arday accidentally dropped an apple directly onto Newton's head and, while Newton merely complained about the concussion, Jason immediately realised the significance of what had happened and formulated the theory of gravity. Further examination of previously ignored historical documents suggests Arday subsequently developed the three laws of motion, universal gravitation, calculus, the reflecting telescope and much of Newton's work on optics, all while carrying out his domestic duties and repeatedly trying, unsuccessfully, to explain his findings to Newton through a complicated system of hand gestures. Newton eventually published the work under his own name, received virtually all the credit and became one of the most celebrated scientists in history. Arday received nothing. Indeed, historians somehow managed to remove him from virtually every portrait, textbook and historical account for the next three and a half centuries.

Recently, in Yining, NW #China#'s #Xinjiang# Uygur Autonomous Region, two teenagers came across an injured "desert Mickey Mouse" while out playing. It looked like a mouse but seemed unusual. They took photos and searched online, confirming it was a long‑eared jerboa—a first‑class nationally protected animal in China. Mindful of wildlife protection laws, the boys did not catch or touch it, and immediately called the police. Officers arrived at the scene, rescued the injured jerboa with proper care, and nursed it until it recovered. It was then released back into its natural Gobi habitat.

Recently the Royal Anglian Regiment marked Minden Day, honouring the Battle of Minden in 1759. Serving soldiers, veterans and families came together for the parade, with soldiers wearing roses in their berets as per tradition. A proud day for the Regiment and all who support it 🌹 Read more ⬇️
