SK HYNIX'S SOLIDIGM EYES 2027 IPO AT $150B VALUATION
SK HYNIX’S SOLIDIGM COULD BECOME THE BIGGEST U.S. CHIP IPO EVER Solidigm is weighing a 2027 U.S. listing that could raise about $15B at a valuation of up to $150B. That would put it far above Arm’s roughly $54B valuation at its 2023 debut and Cerebras’s roughly $56B valuation in its 2026 IPO. Solidigm was built from Intel’s former NAND and SSD business, which SK Hynix acquired for about $9B, and now supplies enterprise storage used across cloud and AI data centers. The company has already started meeting with banks for potential IPO roles. Source: Reuters

SK HYNIX'S SOLIDIGM EYES 2027 IPO THAT COULD VALUE IT AT $150 BILLION, SOURCES SAY SOLIDIGM HELD PITCH MEETINGS THIS WEEK WITH BANKS FOR ROLES IN THE IPO, SOURCES SAY
SK Hynix is telling Silicon Valley the AI boom still runs on memory, and it intends to keep that seat. CEO Kwak Noh-jung spoke on Sept. 18 at its 2026 Global Forum in Santa Clara. He said there is no AI industry without memory, and that the next products after HBM will open the next door. He pointed to more factories and labs, not just better stacks. Yongin in Korea. The Indiana packaging site. A new global AI R&D center in the US. Demand for AI memory will stay high, he said, and those sites are how it plans to hold the lead. The panel was more specific. Design, process, packaging, and the full system now have to move together. A faster stack that the rack cannot feed is still a bottleneck. Roundtables split into silicon design, process and devices, advanced package, and AI systems. $SKHY

SK hynix to lease Intel's Ohio fab? From TrendForce: "SK hynix may manufacture memory chips in the U.S. for the first time, potentially with an unexpected U.S. partner. According to Reuters, sources say SK hynix is in talks with Intel over a potential deal to manufacture memory chips in the U.S. Under one potential scenario, SK hynix could lease part of Intel’s long-planned chipmaking facility in Ohio. Another possibility could see it form a venture with Intel and major cloud firms seeking to secure memory chip supplies. The talks remain exploratory and no decisions have been made, the report notes, adding that SK hynix could consider other ways to structure a potential deal. It is also unclear what types of memory chips the company might manufacture in Ohio if an agreement is reached." Would make sense for multiple reasons: 1. Avoiding US tariffs, since companies that commit to producing in the US can avoid tariffs. 2. Expanding collaboration with Intel $INTC, at which SK hynix could also be a foundry customer to reduce the dependency on $TSM.
