Ukraine's FirePoint, founded by a film scout, an IT guy, and a concrete contractor, now produces 200 long-range strike drones per day. Each one costs $55,000. Flies 1,600 km. GPS-free. Seven generations of combat-proven navigation.  They account for 60% of Ukraine's deep strikes inside Russia. The entire company is 3 years old. U.S. dronemakers are finally getting the policy support, the domestic mandates, and the defense budgets. Ukraine's FP-2 kamikaze drone hit a Russian Black Sea Fleet communications node in occupied Crimea, delivering the strike with unguided aircraft rockets. Knocking out fleet comms, even temporarily, degrades Russia's ability to coordinate naval and air defense operations across the western Black Sea.

Ukraine's air defenses knocked down 279 of 287 Russian drones overnight, a 97% intercept rate. Russia launched the swarm anyway, which means the goal wasn't to break through air defenses. It was to exhaust them.

Ukraine's drone campaign against Russian oil infrastructure has hit 16 refineries this April alone, knocking 700,000 barrels per day of refining capacity offline and pulling total Russian oil production down to 8.8 million b/d, a drop of 460,000 b/d. Last night the Ryazan refinery, one of Russia's largest, caught fire. For context: only 8 refineries were struck during the same period in 2025. At $60-plus oil, every barrel Russia can't refine is budget revenue the Kremlin can't spend on the war.

Ukraine's border guard drone unit "Steel Border" crossed into Russian airspace and destroyed two shelters in the Kursk and North-Slobozhansky sectors, also taking out two vehicles, an antenna, and a quad bike. The DPSU is now running offensive strike operations inside Russia, not just holding the line.

Ukraine brought home 205 POWs from Russian captivity as part of the first stage of a planned 1,000-for-1,000 exchange with Russia. The released servicemembers include soldiers and officers who defended Mariupol and multiple regions since 2022.
