The moment seepage was reported near KM 64, the first decision taken was not a statement. It was action against our own people. That is usually the last step in these situations. Here it was the first. The project director who oversaw the construction was suspended and debarred from further work. The team leader of the independent engineer, whose job was to catch exactly this, was suspended as well. The current project director has also faced action, so nobody was shielded by holding the chair today. Three suspensions before a single defence was offered publicly.
