On April 18, 1942, civilians in Shangrao, Jiangxi risked their lives to rescue 18 downed American airmen from the Doolittle Raid. On October 9, descendants of World War II American airmen once again came to Jiangxi, China, to trace their fathers’ memories. On April 18, 1942, the US military launched the Doolittle Raid to strike Tokyo, Japan. The crews of Aircraft No.13 and No.14 were forced to bail out over Shangrao airspace.
