This week's ChatGPT feature drop - Sept 11: 1/ We upgraded ChatGPT Images: it's much faster, more precise at edits, and better at understanding complex instructions. It's remarkable how much people love generating images, and it's only accelerating! 2/ Two fun features on the iOS app: when you send a message, the animation is faster and smoother. You can also pull down from anywhere in the conversation to start a new chat. 3/ When ChatGPT creates a file for you – a note, a document, a presentation or a spreadsheet – it's now much easier to share it. You can give other email addresses view or edit rights, and they'll see those files in their ChatGPT Library. 4/ We've improved 'location' use in answers (with user permission). A few weeks ago we improved the use of time in answers. Now, "what events are happening in my neighborhood" should be a lot better. 5/ Voice got smarter - When you select the 'higher intelligence' options in Voice, you can now use GPT-6 Astra, our latest frontier model. Warning, it's slow, but it's the best intelligence, hands-free. We're making answers better, and making the app much easier to use! 🚀

This week's ChatGPT feature drop - Aug 14: 1/ Quizzes - "Quiz me on [topic]" will now automatically generate quizzes right in Chat. Learn any topic! 2/ Reservation search - "I'm looking for a reservation for two next Saturday for a place with a great outdoor patio". Nice thing is you can just describe what you want. 3/ Google Drive for Paid Users - You can now add Google Drive files to your ChatGPT Library. That makes it easy to ask ChatGPT questions about those files. Just hit the + menu and "Add from Library" 4/ Suggestions for Paid Users - Paid users will see high quality suggestions on the home page of ChatGPT We're continuing to make answers better, allow you to pull in the right documents, and more easily discover what Chat can do. Today we launched the new ChatGPT Voice experience! ChatGPT can now listen and speak at the same time, making it feel much more like a real conversation. It's smarter, a better listener, and more natural to talk to— powered by our newest generation of voice models, GPT-Live. It's been a privileged to watch @kundan2510 @athyuttamre @ding_ran and their teams bring it to life. Give it a try by opening the ChatGPT app, and tapping the voice button in the bottom right corner!

We're making a small update to the model picker in ChatGPT! We know it's critical to a lot of people's work, and that we have a lot of paying users who care deeply about this one, so wanted to take some time to detail out the tweak. One important point upfront – you'll still have access to the same models and reasoning levels, besides the removal of thinking-light (used by less than 1% of our paid users). You'll see an updated list of options (similar to how Codex works): - Instant - Medium (Thinking-Standard) - High (Thinking-Extended) - Extra High (Thinking-Heavy) [for pro users] - Pro (with option to choose Pro-Standard or Pro-Extended) [for pro users] The intent is to make it easier to choose the balance of speed and effort that works best for your task. We also took into account community feedback to make sure: a) Thinking-heavy is easily accessible b) Pro standard and Pro extended are easily accessible c) We clearly communicate these changes Given that, here are some release notes detailing the updates - Give it a try, it's rolling out today, and we're always open to feedback, we know it's important to get it right!
