25 years of the same trick, and the argument on tape is that it now runs the AI trade.
The story comes from the hardware business. A customer sits two product cycles back, 80% depreciated. You call, offer a trade in, discount the new gear. The old equipment never comes back to you. It gets a certificate of destruction, then goes to a recycler or onto eBay.
Cars work the same way. Trade in every 3 years and the cycle becomes perpetual.
The claim made is that this is what NVIDIA is doing with GPUs. Nobody pays 100 grand out of pocket for equipment that can be leased.
Then the turn. The GPUs are becoming collateral, which is the same direction Bitcoin is described as moving, alongside tokenization.
It closes on 5 years from now looking nothing like what we are used to.
