.@MilliVanilli's music catalog has surged in streams over the past two weeks after three of the duo’s songs appeared in Ryan Murphy’s new @netflix anthology series, ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.’ The pair’s catalog tallied 439,000 U.S. streams in the August 2-8 tracking week, according to @luminate_data. After the series was released on Sept. 19, Milli Vanilli’s catalog surged to 1.8 million streams from Sept. 20-26 (a 300% increase from the first week in August). The following week (Sept. 27-Oct. 3), its catalog tallied 6.9 million streams, a 1,471% increase compared to the first week in August. Three of the duo’s songs appear in the series: “Girl You Know It’s True,” “Girl I’m Gonna Miss You” and “Blame It on the Rain.” The latter song is also the title of the series’ first episode. “Girl I’m Gonna Miss You” and “Blame It on the Rain” both spent two weeks at No. 1 on the #Hot100# in 1989 (notably, before the events of the Menendez story take place), while “Girl You Know It’s True” reached No. 2.
