A24 is reportedly spending nearly $200 million on its Elden Ring movie, by far the most expensive film the studio has ever produced.
For comparison, A24’s previous record was Marty Supreme, with a budget of around $70 million.
The Elden Ring adaptation is planned for 2028 and represents a massive jump in scale for a studio best known for independent and unconventional movies.
A24 has also grown into a major industry brand, valued at around $3.5 billion as of 2024.
A24 will release a ‘V/H/S’ movie based in the SCP Foundation universe in theaters next year.
The film will follow anthology stories of “recovered field documentation” or video evidence gathered & archived by the organization.
A24 has released a statement defending their AI research partnership with Google.
“Our relationship with our audience is something we don’t take for granted. This partnership exists because we want to dictate what tools get built for artists, and so they have a voice in shaping them rather than having tools handed to them. We’d rather have a seat at the table than on the sidelines.”
