AI model wars are getting nuclear level right now
Dario released Fable 5.1 as bait…
Then mugged Samas Astra 6 brutally with Opus 5.5
Just one day before OpenAI’s DevDay, Dario released Sonnet 5.5 and drained every drop of blood from their budget-tier users too 💀
AI could create a completely new problem for the banking system.
Apollo Chief Economist Torsten Slok is warning about the possibility of an "agentic bank run."
The idea is quite simple.
The average US checking account pays roughly 0.1% interest.
Meanwhile, some higher-yield accounts are offering around 3.3% to 5%.
Most people don’t constantly move their cash to wherever the best rate is.
AI agents could change that.
Slok says agentic AI assistants could eventually move household cash automatically into higher-yielding accounts.
If that becomes widespread, banks could lose a significant portion of the cheap deposits they rely on to fund loans.
Slok says that would be a problem for the entire financial system.
This is not a traditional bank run driven by fear.
It is a potential future problem caused by AI automatically optimizing where people keep their money.
Banks have benefited for decades from customers leaving cash sitting in low-yield accounts.
AI could make that much harder.
The question is no longer just how AI changes work.
It may also change how money moves through the banking system.
AI adoption is about more than just the technology; it’s about providing secure, internal access at scale. Join our live webinar to get the story behind Cloudflare OS. Register and get the story!
