Chinese Apparel Giant Accused of One-Day-Off-Per-Week Schedule, 12-Hour Workdays, and Wages of Just 1,800 Yuan a Month (2026.06.18)
On June 18, a factory belonging to the well-known Chinese clothing brand Metersbonwe, located in Dafang County, Bijie, Guizhou Province, was reported to be plagued by excessive working hours and low pay, sparking discontent among workers. According to employees, the factory enforces a one-day-off-per-week schedule, with shifts lasting up to 12 hours a day. Workers said they "don't even dare to use the toilet or drink water" during their shifts due to the intensity of the workload. Despite the grueling conditions, many employees reported earning only around 1,800 yuan that month.
