Sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG-71) observe an MH-60R Seahawk landing on the ship's flight deck while operating in support of the U.S. naval blockade of Iran. According to today's update from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), U.S. forces have now redirected 68 commercial vessels, boarded two to ensure compliance, and disabled three vessels that failed to comply with blockade directives.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the USS George Washington Carrier Strike Group (CSG) entered the Arabian Sea yesterday and is now operating within the CENTCOM area of operations. The strike group is centered on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) and includes the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Robert Smalls (CG-62) and Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG-86). With the arrival of the Washington CSG, the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) CSG will soon begin its month long journey home to San Diego.
