James Webb didn't just take prettier pictures. It revealed structures Hubble couldn't separate, traced galaxy networks back 13.7 billion years, and just released all 164,000 galaxies to the public. #CosmicWeb# #JamesWebb# #Astronomy#

Scientists have unveiled the LSST Camera at the Vera C. Rubin Observatory — a 3.2-gigapixel imaging system now considered the largest digital camera ever built for astronomy. Roughly the size of a small car, the instrument will repeatedly scan the night sky over the next decade to create an ultra-high-resolution time-lapse record of the universe. Researchers expect it to help detect millions of asteroids and image billions of galaxies as part of the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), offering new insights into dark matter, dark energy, and cosmic evolution. #Astronomy# #SpaceTech# #Engineering# #LSST#

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson decide to go on a camping trip. After dinner and a bottle of wine, they lie down and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. “Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see.” Watson replies, “I see millions of stars.” “And what does that tell you?” Watson thinks for a moment. “Astronomically, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Chronologically, I deduce it’s about a quarter past three. Theologically, I see that God is all powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, I suspect we’ll have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you, Holmes?” Holmes is silent for a moment, then says: “Watson… you idiot. Someone has stolen our tent.”
