We're all celebrating a successful launch! @NASAAdmin Jared Isaacman visited Goddard yesterday to commend the workforce on the launch of @NASARoman, ahead of schedule & on budget. The Roman operations team visited with the administrator about the mission's progress so far.

We’ve got our starglasses on! 🤩 Roman’s Coronagraph Instrument has activated. This system of masks, prisms, detectors, and self-flexing mirrors will block out the glare from distant stars and directly image the planets and disks in orbit around them.

Success! Roman’s planned mid-course correction burn went as expected, ensuring that we are on track for our orbit around the second Lagrange point, a million miles from Earth.

🚀 ICYMI: NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifted off yesterday at 7:26 a.m. EDT aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA Kennedy's Launch Complex 39A in Florida! Years of hard work and dedication from thousands of people all culminated in yesterday's liftoff, but for many, launch was just the beginning. Over the first five years of observations, Roman will image more than 50 times as much sky as Hubble covered in 30 years and perform surveys that would take Hubble hundreds or even thousands of years!
