I warmly congratulate András Baka on his election as President of Hungary.
Slovakia and Hungary are connected by long-standing good neighbourly relations, a shared history, and strong people-to-people ties based on mutual respect, trust, and open dialogue. I am convinced that we will continue to develop our cooperation both bilaterally and within the Visegrad Group and the European Union, where we are united by shared priorities and the responsibility for coordinated action. Together, we can contribute to the stability, security, and prosperity of our region and to the promotion of our shared interests in European politics.
I believe that I will soon have the opportunity to welcome the newly elected President on a visit to the Slovak Republic. I look forward to personal meetings, including the upcoming summit of V4 Presidents in Slovakia.
I wish the new President of Hungary good health, strength, wisdom, and success in the exercise of his mandate in service to the citizens of Hungary.
