A cyclospora bloom in irrigation water at Taylor Farms in Mexico — possibly seasonal, possibly spreading to other produce sources. Incubation period up to two weeks, which means cases tied to blueberries or potatoes or water supply won't surface for weeks after exposure. The diarrhea can last a month. It must be treated with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole — Bactrim or Septra — immediately. Don't ride it out. Vulnerable and frail people are getting dehydrated and hospitalized. The antibiotic needs to be on hand before you need it.
