The White House just dropped new guidance about the future of science. It looks very different from today's science: new alternatives to peer review, funding aimed directly at individual scientists, and a push to move faster than the current system allows. We had this conversation ten days ago. On July 11th, we hosted Catalyst NYC, bringing together leaders from NCATS, NSF, and a variety of other powerhouse institutions to discuss exactly these questions: how do we accelerate translational science, and reform outdated systems to help research move faster?
