EU “FULLY REJECTS” POTENTIAL U.S. DIESEL EXPORT BAN
The European Union says it “fully rejects” any potential U.S. ban on diesel exports, warning such a move would undermine trust in Washington as a reliable partner.
At the same time, Brussels says it is prepared to participate in a coordinated release of emergency fuel stocks, provided the action is organized through the International Energy Agency.
EU 🇪🇺 countries are now discussing a French proposal to release 50 million barrels of diesel, alongside another 50 million barrels of crude from IEA members.
Europe is also pushing for any deal to include a U.S. 🇺🇸 commitment not to impose a unilateral diesel export ban.
