This isn’t a recent PR move. It’s been a core approach for over a decade. Real progress compounds faster when the best ideas aren’t locked behind walls. Open source isn’t just a philosophy for him — it’s a strategy.

. @elonmusk DESTROYS THE “FAR RIGHT” SMEAR In the Economist interview, the editor tried the usual line: “You support the far right…” Elon’s response was perfect: “No, I support the normal people. What you call the far right, falsely.” He then listed three basic positions: • Secure borders • Safe cities • Sensible spending And asked: “Which of those three are far right fringe?” He went further: “I would like to just admonish you and the media for the absurd characterization of the far right. It is false and misleading and nonsense.” That’s the entire game right there. Take completely mainstream positions that were normal 10–15 years ago, rebrand them as “far right,” and then act shocked when people push back. Elon refused to play along. He called it what it is — a dishonest framing designed to shut down debate. The more the media overuses these labels, the less power they have.
