"If you've got a rocket that can fly a lot, what do you fly on it?"
That question helped lead to Starlink.
Musk says the Starlink team built a high-bandwidth global internet system from scratch, both the hardware and the software.
Today, Starlink has nearly 11,000 satellites in orbit, more than twice as many as everyone else combined.
And Musk believes Starlink could eventually handle more than 90% of global internet traffic.
With Starlink V3 and beyond, the network could eventually scale to around 100,000 satellites.
Building an entire internet network in space is an enormous challenge.
But SpaceX is already doing it.

Musk expects those numbers to grow by more than 10× over time.
But the bigger shift could come from AI.
Musk referenced Cloudflare's projection that, based on current growth, AI traffic could eventually become 1,000× larger than human internet traffic within five years.
Think about that for a moment.

Elon Musk reveals why he launched his Tesla Roadster into space.
"I fully expected this flight to fail."
Musk was talking about Falcon Heavy's first flight.
Since he thought the rocket might fail, he didn't want to put something boring on top of it.
Instead, SpaceX launched his personal Tesla Roadster with Starman sitting in the driver's seat.
The car is now traveling in an orbit that takes it between Earth and Mars.
And according to Musk, it could remain up there for around 10 million years.
Imagine taking your everyday car and accidentally turning it into a piece of space history.

Stockholders controlling 54.2% of DoorDash’s voting power have approved the reincorporation, including cofounders Tony Xu, Andy Fang and Stanley Tang. The board unanimously backed the move.
DoorDash pointed directly at Delaware’s “surprising” court outcomes and increasingly litigious environment, saying Nevada offers a more predictable, statute-based legal system.

Elon Musk reflects on how difficult SpaceX's journey really was.
"When we started SpaceX, we really had no idea how to make rockets."
Falcon 1 failed three times before finally reaching orbit.
Then came an even bigger challenge: landing and re-flying an orbital booster.
Musk says many aerospace experts told him it wouldn't work—and even if it did, nobody would want to fly on a used rocket.
But SpaceX kept going.
Today, Falcon 9 boosters take off, land, and get recovered every few days.
SpaceX also went on to build Falcon Heavy, once the world's most powerful operational rocket, and is now approaching its 700th Falcon flight.
From blowing up rockets to routinely landing and reusing them.
