NVIDIA’s rumored GeForce RTX 50 SUPER graphics cards have reportedly been shipped to at least some board partners, but their launch has been put on hold due to the high cost of 3GB GDDR7 memory chips. According to reports, NVIDIA is still deciding how to price the new GPUs, as the 3GB GDDR7 memory modules needed for the refreshed cards cost around $60–70 per chip, making them significantly more expensive than expected. The RTX 50 SUPER lineup is expected to increase VRAM capacity on several models by using these larger memory chips, but NVIDIA reportedly doesn’t want to launch until it strikes the right balance between production costs and retail pricing.

NVIDIA has officially retired the GeForce Control Panel after 20 years, ending one of the longest-running software tools in PC gaming. The company is moving users to the newer NVIDIA App, which combines driver updates, game optimization, DLSS and RTX settings, performance tools, overlays, and display settings into one application. The old Control Panel will still work for now but is now considered a legacy app and will no longer receive major updates for GeForce users. For many gamers it has been a familiar part of the Windows experience since the early 2000s.

NVIDIA is reviving the 2021 GeForce RTX 3060 12GB for a 2026 return. According to consistent supply chain reports, production of the RTX 3060 12GB is restarting. GPU supply is expected to resume in June 2026, with add-in-card partners ASUS, MSI, Colorful, and GALAX receiving new chips and beginning mass production of cards around July. NVIDIA is reportedly working on a feature that could let future GeForce GPUs use an SSD as extra VRAM. When a graphics card runs out of VRAM, it could use data stored on a fast NVMe SSD instead. Your SSD won’t be as fast as real VRAM, but it could help when a game or AI app needs more memory than your graphics card has. That could mean fewer stutters and better performance in some situations. The feature is reportedly based on RTX IO and Microsoft’s DirectStorage technology.
