GPT-6 Astra is a very good model in a lot of ways
but i think the token efficiency might be the most impressive part
compared to GPT-5.6 sol, Astra gets significantly better performance while using roughly the same, or sometimes even fewer, tokens at higher reasoning levels
GPT-6 Astra vs GPT-5.6 on the same SVG task (pelican on a bicycle):
Higher effort = cleaner drawings.
But look at the cost:
Astra Max → 63¢
Sol Max → 32¢
Terra Max → 26¢
Luna Max → 1.6¢
Same prompt.
Very different bills.
GPT-6 Astra really looks like openai went hard on pre-training
world modeling, math/abstraction, spatial + visual reasoning, interacting with environments- it pretty much leapfrogs every other model
but coding is the interesting part. vs. Fable 5.1, the gap really isn’t that big
GPT 6 Astra hallucinates way less than the other frontier models
On Artificial Analysis it’s at roughly half Sol’s hallucination rate and is much lower than Fable 5.1 too
This is instantly noticeable in use also
GPT-6 Astra just deleted someone’s home directory during a test.
It caught the mistake, stopped, and apologized…
but some of the data was already gone.
The model is powerful enough to do real damage now.
Sandboxes and backups just became non-negotiable.
GPT-6 Astra >> Fable 5.1 , and it's not even an argument
Artificial Analysis have updated their scoring methodology bumping Astra up a bit
I still can’t see a world where this thing is below Fable 5.1, this is way off imo
