Insomniac Games is in early development on a new X-MEN game featuring multiple playable characters and a larger scope than their recent WOLVERINE game.
The game is expected to release in 2030

Insomniac has added a setting to turn off some of the hints in Wolverine such as:
- The blue trail that lead you to optional collectible whiskey bottles
- The roots that lead you to nightmare doors
- Material Crate audio clues
The blue trail for main story objectives remain.
Insomniac has a convenient exception for Wolverine’s “canon” senses.
James Stevenson said the scent trail could not be toggled. It was Logan’s mutant tracking, not a UI crutch. Off the table.
Marvel’s Wolverine is out on PS5 today. The collectibles are twenty whiskey bottles. You find them by following that same glowing path through Canada, Japan, and Madripoor. Stevenson is already joking that the studio is “cooking” patches and that you can smell it from the kitchen.
The trail is still there. The bottles still require it.
They sold you a tracker as character. Now they’re selling the patch as listening. Same bottles. Different excuse.
Insomniac’s communications director James Stevenson has spoken about the huge amount of negativity surrounding Marvel’s Wolverine on X
He says the constant criticism and attacks have become an “onslaught” on developers’ mental health.
Stevenson is even considering telling Insomniac employees to stay away from X because of it.
Fans are comparing it to PS2 games and calling it a moviegame designed for journalists
