🏦 Investment banking roared back in Q2:
Deal fees surged across the board as M&A, IPOs and debt issuance picked up.
Banks kept teams in place through the slowdown, so recovering volumes can now lift revenue much faster than costs.
BNK Investment & Securities, the local Korean brokerage that foreshadowed the KOSPI’s decline by cutting its price target for SK hynix to KRW 1.85 million when the index was at 7,700, lowered its target again today to KRW 1.48 million. Foreign investment into the US is exploding:
US net capital inflows surged to a record +$884 billion in the 12 months ending April 2026.
