Best known for Pokémon’s colorful art style, director Kota Furushima admitted that making a photorealistic action RPG felt very different from the studio’s usual work at first. The team believed a realistic visual style was the best fit for the game’s dark, post-apocalyptic setting. Instead of using the style they’re known for, they wanted to create a world that felt believable and matched the tone of the story.

Housemarque wants Saros to follow the same path as FromSoftware’s games.
