Housemarque wants Saros to follow the same path as FromSoftware’s games. Studio CEO Ilari Kuittinen says the team hopes that, over time, their fast shooter style can grow from a niche genre into something as popular and respected as Soulslike games. “We hope that, over the years, we can do the same thing FromSoftware did with Soulslikes,” He explained that games like Saros and Returnal are designed to help players reach a “flow state,” where dodging enemy attacks and reacting to bullet patterns starts to feel natural.
