Kashmir is “an important part of India”—with these four words, Ambassador Gor shiftes longstanding US policy, strengthened US-India ties, AND pissed off Pakistan. Impressive!

Bittu says mostly appropriate things. But not much political appeal or support. Tells you everything you need to know. In my head, I put Punjab situation as Kashmir lite. Will never get fully settled (Assam is more settled as demographics different).

Believe it or not, something very big is about to happen in India. Amit Shah often appears to show one thing while preparing something entirely different. Before the abrogation of Article 370, massive paramilitary forces were mobilized in Kashmir in the name of securing the Amarnath Yatra. Then the pilgrimage was suspended on security grounds, Article 370 was removed, and the same forces were deployed to maintain peace and order. To understand what may be coming next, one must look at the background. India’s first Prime Minister, who some critics call not only an “accidental Hindu” but also an “accidental Prime Minister,” allowed large parts of the North-East to undergo religious conversion from tribal faiths to Christianity. His daughter Indira Gandhi, despite breaking Pakistan into two and taking 90,000 Pakistani soldiers as prisoners, neither widened the vulnerable Chicken’s Neck corridor nor secured the return of all Indian prisoners in exchange. Captured Pakistani territory was returned, and the best opportunity to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was lost. Coming to the present era, Congress governments allegedly gave Christian missionaries a free hand. Mother Teresa was systematically promoted in India by Christian nations. Large-scale conversions took place in tribal regions of Bengal, Odisha and southern states, while the country remained occupied with Hindu-Muslim issues. Under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership, critics argue, conversions from Hinduism to Christianity continued, and Mother Teresa was awarded the Bharat Ratna. When the Kanchi Kamakoti Shankaracharya initiated Ghar Wapsi efforts, he was arrested on Diwali day in what supporters describe as a fabricated murder case. After the Modi govt came to power, hundreds of foreign-funded NGOs were shut down, but this network could not be completely dismantled. Now, the Government of India is reportedly preparing to bring the FCRA Bill 2026 in the upcoming Monsoon Session, which could effectively stop foreign funding to Christian missionary organizations. According to supporters, Christian-majority countries around the world are pressuring India to prevent such legislation. But times have changed. This is the new India of 2026. Both Democrats & Republicans in the US are united in opposing such a move and are trying to influence India’s opposition parties. The gov, they believe, is fully aware of these subtle maneuvers. Governments that dance to Western tunes are preferred by such forces, and at any cost, they want Modi removed. George Soros has already used every tactic at his disposal, but this time he is up against Modi and a different India. Amid growing global turbulence, the government’s efforts to secure a two-thirds majority by expanding its political strength are not happening without reason. It knows that resistance may come from within as well, and major reforms require a strong government. While discussions continue around the Women’s Reservation Bill and delimitation, many believe something much bigger is being planned behind the scenes.
