OPTICAL NETWORKING DAILY DIGEST, OCTOBER 16, 2026
NEW COMPANY
• Salience Labs (private, Oxford, England): a silicon photonics optical circuit switching vendor for AI data centers, founded in 2021, added after its $125M Series B announced October 14, 2026 (Bullhound Capital led; AMD Ventures and Intel Capital participated). The announcement was picked up a day late and is recorded with its true date.
NEW PRODUCTS
• Salience Labs: Optical Circuit Switch (64-port), an all-optical circuit switch on a fully integrated silicon photonics architecture, demonstrated live at ECOC 2026. Vendor figures: 10 ns switching, under 1 W per port, 200 Gbit/s interface. Announced status only; the funding supports high-volume manufacturing, and 128-port and 256-port versions are in development. No public part number.
SCREENING NOTES
• Ayar Labs: A claimed S1Pro 6.4T CPO announcement remains unverified after four days of checking across the Ayar newsroom and the major wires; it should not be treated as a confirmed product. Ayar's actual newest news is the October 13, 2026 Wiwynn and GUC live CPO demonstration at OCP (TeraPHY optical engine plus SuperNova light source).
• Applied Optoelectronics: Its only October 15, 2026 release is a timing notice for its Q3 2026 results (to be released November 5, 2026). No new product, status change, or design win.
• Semtech: Semtech held its Data Center Analyst Day on October 15, 2026 and furnished an 8-K with an updated Q3 fiscal 2027 outlook and a fiscal 2030 financial framework (data center net sales of $2.1B targeted for fiscal 2030). Strategy and financials only; no new optical product was announced.
• Nokia: Its 6-K dated October 15, 2026 encloses only managers' transactions and a share settlement. Its in-window press items are those share releases and an October 16, 2026 SoftBank AI-RAN field trial, which is radio, not optical. No optical product change.
• Ribbon Communications: A claimed October 14, 2026 acquisition of INSITECH remains unverified after a second day of checking; no Ribbon release, wire item, or trade coverage of any such acquisition was found, and it was not recorded. Ribbon's latest release is its October 13, 2026 Q3 results notice.
• Huawei: Its October 16, 2026 unveiling in Florence covered the upgraded Stellar Intelligent Network Solution for Europe (Fabric, WAN and Campus). The named hardware is SME gateways, campus switches and access points; the fabric claim is a 30% reduction in switches and optical modules from its 100T switches. No standalone optical product was announced, so nothing was added.
• Luxshare Precision: Its pinned newsroom listing was checked live on October 16, 2026 after two days when it could not be verified. The newest item is dated September 24, 2026 and there are no October 2026 items, so nothing is new.

OPTICAL NETWORKING DAILY UPDATE - OCTOBER 15, 2026
NEW COMPANY
• Eliyan (private, Santa Clara, California): a connectivity chiplet vendor added after its NuLight 2D microVCSEL optical interconnect platform launch at OCP Global Summit 2026, verified from its October 14, 2026 release.
NEW PRODUCTS
• Eliyan: NuLight Nexus, a 1.6T reverse gearbox chiplet (TSMC 3nm) converting each 212G PAM4 host link into four 53G NRZ optical lanes for microVCSEL arrays; modular slices scale to 6.4T near-package and 12.8T XPO configurations. Introduced October 14, 2026, sampling now. No public part number in the release.
• Eliyan: NuLight Oscar, the electrical interface chip of the NuLight platform, providing laser driver and TIA interfaces to microVCSEL and photodiode arrays; with Nexus it forms a fully retimed slow-and-wide optical link with on-the-fly spare-lane repair. Introduced October 14, 2026, sampling now. No public part number in the release.
SCREENING NOTES
• Ayar Labs: A claimed S1Pro 6.4T CPO announcement remains unverified after three days of checking across the Ayar newsroom and the major wires; it should not be treated as a confirmed product. Ayar's actual in-window news is the October 12 to 13 Wiwynn and GUC live CPO demonstration at OCP (TeraPHY optical engine plus SuperNova light source).
• Astera Labs: No new product on October 14 or 15. Aries 7 was announced October 8, 2026, not October 14, and a claimed October 14 Leo CXL sampling item could not be verified. In-window items are OCP demonstrations of existing products.
• Credo: An EDGAR rescan found no 8-K or 6-K dated October 14 or 15, 2026 across all 28 covered US tickers. Credo's October 14 EDGAR entries are Form 4 insider filings only, and its October 13 OmniConnect Weaver demonstration was a press release, a memory fanout gearbox demo on AMD Versal, which is not optical. Claims of Celestica or Nokia 6-Ks dated October 14 do not exist in EDGAR.
• Coherent: Its only October 14, 2026 release is the fiscal 2027 first-quarter earnings timing notice (results November 4, 2026), which is not a product announcement. Optical product items circulating with October dates are March and September conference items recrawled.
• FS: October 2026 dates on FS product pages are dynamic page elements, not launch dates: the newest verifiable FS launch remains the July 1, 2026 800G ZR/ZR+ coherent family.
• Huawei: Its October 15, 2026 NetworkX presentation in Vienna covered the LIGHTS all-optical network vision and next-generation OTN framing, with no named new product, part number, or availability date.
• Lightmatter: The open-rack CPO release (Passage CPO switch tray with Flex, Guide DR laser modules, vClick Optics, SENKO SEAT connectivity) is datelined October 12, 2026, not October 14, and was already reported. October 14 and 15 items are coverage of that release, with no status change.
• Marvell: October 14 coverage is a recrawl of the October 13 Alaska E and Alaska A release already reported, plus OCP booth demonstrations of existing parts. No new product or status change.
• NVIDIA: No new optical product on October 14 or 15. Circulating items are recrawls (the US AI supercomputer manufacturing announcement is from April 2025) and non-optical software news.
• POET Technologies: No company release on October 14 or 15; its latest newsroom release is dated October 1, 2026. No status change.
• Ribbon Communications: A claimed October 14, 2026 acquisition of INSITECH could not be verified in Ribbon's newsroom or EDGAR and was not recorded.
• Luxshare Precision: UNCHECKED on October 15, 2026. Its pinned newsroom listing could not be verified in two attempts: a text fetch failed and a live browser found the domain presenting as parked or for sale, with no newsroom content. Cached copies still show a May 28, 2026 item as newest, but that is not a live check, so the source does not count as checked today. This is the second consecutive failed run for this source.

$VICR closed at 253.50 on August 17th only to be quickly faded and pounded back to the 170s within days. Now this level is acting as strong support-prob a low risk place to stash some shares away.
Why did this area that was rejected so quickly turn into support recently? Lets look at whats happened since then.
-Vicor purchased an existing building that has clean room space for fab2, this building is the same size as their fab1 which is en route to producing 1.5b a year in product revenue.
-This same building location has enough land to build at least 2-3 more fabs.
-They purchased another site minutes away with enough land to build yet another 4 fabs, yes they now have space for 7-8 fabs. They have said many times they expect to need a "multiplicity of fabs" because of where GPU/XPU's are headed, next gen advanced packaging architectures make VPD MUST HAVE, not "nice to have."
-They filed lawsuits against Delta/MPWR/Quanta/Flex/CLS/Foxconn and many others both in the ITC and in the Texas district court(ITC would not issue a monetary award, only would ban importation of certain infringing products, Texas court could issue monetary award to Vicor-likely lead to settlements before it gets that far)
-After they bought that land and filed those lawsuits, they signed a license with a "leading AI OEM" for VPD products that OEM is purchasing from other companies that are infringing Vicor IP. How do we know they are infringing Vicor IP before the lawsuits are decided? Exactly- we dont, but the "leading AI OEM" signed a license anyway-they must know Vicor has a very strong case and can't jeopardize putting their supply chain at risk with an exclusion order issued by the ITC-
-Last friday, the ITC accepted the case and decided to move on-and immediately after, Foxconn, Luxshare and Hon Hai(foxconn parent) put out press releases that came off a bit defensive.
-Yesterday, Morgan Stanley who is bullish on Delta-says Delta has "high single digit percentage"(I'll assume 7% for conversations sake) of 2026 revenue that could be affecgted by Vicor case. Delta is doing 25b this year, thats 1.75b in revenue that Morgan Stanley believes is potentially using Vicor IP. Vicor is a 12b market cap company-huge implications here.
